Slow Dance came together while I was watching the film “Submarine.” To summarize, the film tells a story about a boy named Oliver Tate who is struggling to ignite the spark between his parents (dimming the lights, engaging in some spy action) while, at the same time, trying to be the “perfect boyfriend.” When Oliver informed his parents of his new dutiful role, not only did his father provide him with the awkward dad/son talk on relationships, but he also gave Oliver a mixtape that he had compiled, one fitting for this early stage of adolescent love. The hand-me-down of mixtapes was something Oliver’s father had been doing since he was a child and included various themes such as “dependency” or, just because it usually happens, a “break-up” compilation. As Oliver’s father did for him, this mixtape is filled with songs, all inspired by that four-letter word we all are so fond of.

Don’t deny this moment.
(I highly recommend listening to this mixtape without skipping any of the tracks so it does not affect the transitions and the overall flow of the compilation; however, this is just my suggestion. For those not streaming, I have included a playlist file (.m3u) so the tracklist is already set-up and ready to play. Listen comfortably.)
